Professor Pantelis Capros presented the findings of the study on the Long Term Strategy of the EU at the plenary session of Day of the International Energy Workshop IEW 2019 in Paris.

George Zazias presented the modelling difficulties and model updates required to model the transition of the EU towards carbon neutrality by mid-century.

The annual IEW conference brings together the leading scientists in the field of energy supply and price forecasts, energy savings and efficiency, renewable and innovative energy technologies, energy and economy modelling, environmental and climate policy, and the intersection between energy analysis, economics, and the natural sciences.

The study was undertaken by E3-Modelling staff and was a key input to the “A Clean Planet for All” communication of the European Commission that was published in November 2018.
