The objective of this technical support project is to apply quantitative modelling tools in order to assess scenarios and policy options for the revision of the CO2 emission standards for cars and vans in the medium (up to 2030) and long term (going at least up to 2050). This includes assessment of the economic, environmental and social impacts for the EU as a whole and for individual Member States. The modelling tools should also allow the possibility to assess interactions as well as possible trade-offs or synergies with other policies, including policies related to the energy system, transport.
