He holds the position of Professor of Energy Economics and Operational Research at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA).

Dr. Maria Kannavou

Co - Director of energy systems modelling

Dr. Maria Kannavou has over seven years of experience as an energy analyst; her expertise includes energy system analysis and modelling, with a specialisation to power markets. Currently, she is coordinating the modelling activities of the energy system modelling team. Maria holds an MSc in Electrical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and a PhD focusing on issues arising from the integration of high shares of renewable energy sources in competitive markets.

Dr. Pelopidas Siskos

Project Manager energy and transport policy and modelling

Dr Pelopidas Siskos has over 10 years of experience in the field of applied energy and transport economic policy analysis with a focus on long term energy modelling as a tool for strategic planning and policy making. Pelopidas coordinates the activities of the transport modelling team of E3-Modelling.

Zoi Vrontisi

Project Manager climate policy

Zoi Vrontisi has more than 10 years of professional and academic experience in energy and climate policy assessment. She contributes as a senior researcher and project manager for several EU funded research projects focusing on the inter-linkages between sustainable development and climate policy, the socioeconomic assessment of climate impacts and the formulation of sustainable energy policies.

Dr. Panagiotis Karkatsoulis

Senior economic analysis and modelling

Dr Panagiotis Karkatsoulis has over 12 years of experience in Computable General Equilibrium modelling, particularly in the development and the enhancement of the GEM-E3 model, in which he has integrated a plethora of innovating modelling concepts.

Dr. Kostas Fragkiadakis

Senior economic analysis and modelling

Dr Kostas Fragkiadakis has over 8 years professional experience in Computable General Equilibrium modelling, regional and macroeconomic modelling, and climate change and energy policy analysis. He is a member of the macroeconomics teams of E3-Modelling, working on the development of the GEM-E3 model and its application on to climate change policy assessment, environmental economics, energy economics and transport analysis related exercises.

Dr. Nikolaos Tasios is member of the energy modelling team of E3-Modelling and has more than 10 years of experience in stochastic long-term energy system modelling as a tool for strategic planning and policy making.

Dr. Ioannis Tsiropoulos has more than 10 years of professional and research experience on energy systems and sustainability. He works at the interface of systems, technologies and policy support. He holds a PhD from Utrecht University.

Dr. Theodoros Chatzivasileiadis

Economic analyst

Theodoros has completed his PhD in Economics under the supervision of Prof. Richard S. J. Tol and Francisco Estrada Porrúa in Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Following he completed his postdoc in Mannheim Germany at Zentrum für Europäische Wirtschaftsforschung (ZEW) before starting his position in E3-Modelling.

Dr Georgina Asimakopoulou has more than 10 years of experience in the application of analytical methods for optimal decision-making in the energy sector. She holds a PhD and a MSc degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from NTUA.

Alkisti Florou recently joined E3-Modelling as Policy and Project Manager. Her responsibilities mainly lie within the fields of proposal development, communication, and project management. Alkisti holds a BA in International and European Relations from Panteion University (Athens, Greece) and an MSc in Environment and Development from the London School of Economics and Political Science (London, UK).
