Prof. Emeritus Pantelis Capros
Scientific Coordinator
Pantelis Capros is Professor Emeritus of Energy Economics and Operational Research at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). He was the first President of the Energy Regulatory Authority of Greece (2000-2004) and a member of the BoD of PPC (Public Power Corporation, Greece) for five years (1995-2000). He has over 30 years of professional experience in energy, transport, environment and economic policy and more than 150 publications in international scientific journals.

Dr. Leonidas Paroussos is the Managing Director of E3-Modelling and has extensive experience in project management as he has coordinated many scientific and impact assessment projects. He has more than 20 years of experience in applied mathematical modelling and has been one of the main developers of the large scale applied CGE model, GEM-E3.

Dr. Panagiotis Fragkos is a member of the global energy, economy and climate team of E3-Modelling with over 12 years of experience in macroeconomics, applied econometrics, and stochastic energy modelling.
Dr. Maria Kannavou
Director of PRIMES
Dr. Maria Kannavou has more than 8 years of experience as an energy analyst and is the Director of PRIMES model. She is an expert in energy system analysis and modelling, with a specialisation on power markets. Maria holds an MSc in Electrical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and a PhD focusing on issues arising from the integration of high shares of renewable energy sources in competitive markets.

Zoi Vrontisi has more than 15 years of professional and academic experience in energy and climate policy assessment. She contributes as a senior researcher and project coordinator for several EU funded research projects.

Dr. Kostas Kavvadias has over 15 year professional and research experience in energy system analysis, modeling and project deployment. Among others he has worked on topics related to power system, heating and cooling, energy statistics and accounting, sector integration, water energy nexus and desalination.

Dr. Theofano Fotiou has more than 8 years of experience as member of the PRIMES modelling team at E3-Modelling. She focuses on demand side energy modelling and analysis and more particularly on modelling the potential of energy savings and the penetration of low-carbon technologies in the buildings sector (residential and services).

Dr. Georgina Asimakopoulou has more than 10 years of experience in the application of analytical methods for optimal decision-making in the energy sector. She holds a PhD and a MSc degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from NTUA.

Miltiadis Aslanoglou is an associated expert of E3-Modelling in areas including power market simulation, regulation of energy markets, energy market analysis, tariffs development, energy balances, and renewable energy systems. He has over 20 years of professional experience in energy economic analysis, business consulting and regulation of energy markets, in his capacity as Deputy Chairman of the Regulatory Authority of Energy from 2010 to 2015.

Dr. Anastasis Giannousakis is a member of the Global Energy Markets & Integrated Assessment Modelling group at E3-Modelling. Anastasis has over 12 years of experience in energy-economy-climate modelling and holds a B.Sc. & M.Sc. in chemical engineering (Univ. of Patras, Greece) and a Ph.D. in economics from the Technical University Berlin, Germany. His research focuses on the development and use of large energy-economy-climate models for climate change mitigation (i.a. using intertemporal optimization, and under uncertainty), data science, and open-source modelling.

Dr. Faidra Filippidou focuses on the energy saving and decarbonization potential of building stocks, renewable heating and cooling and the interface of energy demand and supply. Prior to joining E3-Modelling she worked at Delft University of Technology and the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission.

For his diploma thesis, he worked extensively with optimization problems and specialized in peer-to-peer energy marketplaces. Before joining E3M, he worked for a German firm on power market analysis and modelling.
