Dr. Panagiotis Fragkos

Project Manager, Global Energy, Environment Analysis and Modelling

Dr. Panagiotis Fragkos heads the Global Energy Markets and Integrated Assessment Modelling team. For more than 14 years he has been using modelling to conduct quantitative analysis of the global “energy-economy-environment” nexus and support countries with strategic planning and implementation of climate change mitigation policies. Panagiotis has been in charge of developing and running large-scale mathematical models that simulate national transition pathways but also global energy system dynamics to assess the interplay between national climate action and global climate mitigation goals. He has led and participated in a large number of projects and studies assessing energy and climate policies, green growth strategies, linkages between climate action and sustainable development, and socio-economic effects of decarbonisation. Panagiotis graduated from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens and holds a PhD in “Stochastic modelling of the global energy system and applications”.
