Dr. Panagiotis Karkatsoulis
Senior Economist
Dr. Panagiotis Karkatsoulis has over 14 years of experience in Computable General Equilibrium modelling, particularly in the development and the enhancement of the GEM-E3 model, in which he has integrated a plethora of innovating modelling concepts. He has contributed to the improvements of the representation of the transport sector, endogenous growth and R&D in the GEM-E3 model. He has participated in many projects focusing on the macroeconomic implications of energy and climate related policies, regional modelling and economics and had developed the energy demand module of the compactPRIMES model. Panagiotis holds a degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Crete- Greece and an MSc in Mathematical Modelling in Modern Technologies and Economics from the National Technical University of Athens. He also holds a PhD in “Endogenous Economic Growth Modelling driven by Clean Energy Technologies” from the National Technical University of Athens.
