Pantelis Capros is Professor Emeritus of Energy Economics and Operational Research at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens. He was the first President of the Energy Regulatory Authority of Greece (2000-2004) and a member of the BoD of PPC (Public Power Corporation, Greece) in 1995-2000. Prof. Capros is specialised in energy, transport and economic modelling, energy forecasting and planning, econometrics, integrated assessment modelling, software engineering and databases. He has built and used a variety of large-scale mathematical models maintained for several countries. For the past 30 years he has been providing high-level consultancy services to the European Commission, EU governmental offices and several energy companies in the areas of energy, transport, environment and economic policy. He has also a track redord of more than 150 publications in international scientific journals. Prof. Capros holds an engineering degree from NTUA, three DEAs in Economics, Informatics and Operations Research from ENSAE – INSTN and the University of Dauphine, Paris, and a Doctorat d’Etat in Mathematical Economics from University Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris.
